coushatta trip news story 06.10.10 reservations are being taken for a june 24 charter bus trip to grand coushatta resort and casino in kinder, louisiana. liberty-dayton area chamber of commerce is sponsoring the first class tours coach, and those who have taken this luxury charter bus trip in the past have said it is a great one-day getaway. the bus will leave on thursday, june 24, at 8:30 a.m. from the thrif-tee food center parking lot on main street in liberty. it will return around 8 that evening to the same location. the bus is equipped with reclining seats, restrooms, dvd and vcr players, television monitors and cd players. snacks, water and games also will be supplied. the round-trip bus ride is $15, but space is limited. to reserve your seat, call the liberty-dayton area chamber office at 936-336-5736. budget busters news story 06.10.10 how do you measure success? liberty superintendent cynthia lusignolo said she is happy that student success in academics, athletics and music caused one area of the district’s budget to go into the red. "audio" academics was AMONG those areas where liberty high school students ADVANCED beyond district to either regional or state COMPETITION. liberty students moved on in spelling, speech, science, poetry and prose, social studies, math, calculator, number sense, and ready writing. in sports, both the girls and boys golf, tennis and cross country teams ADVANCED beyond district as did the soccer and softball teams. also advancing were members of the POWERLIFTING squad and girls track. other areas where liberty kids moved beyond district were one-act play, choir solo and ensemble, and band COMPETITION. also moving on was the business PROFESSIONALS of america group from liberty. most recently, cynthia lusignolo said the lhs literary criticism team captured the class 3-a state title for the fourth time in seven years.
