CLEVELAND CITY MANAGER PHILIP COOK SAID HIS NORTH LIBERTY COUNTY CITY IS BUSY NOW, WORKING ON THE VOTER APPROVED ZONING ORDINANCE. THE VOTE WAS SOMETIME AGO BUT ITS DEVELOPMENT IS ON GOING. .

PHILIP COOK SAID WHILE THE CONTENT OF THE CLEVELAND CITY ZONING ORDINANCE CONTINUES TO BE DEFINED AFTER APPROVAL SOMETIME AGO BY A 2 TO 1 VOTE, HE EXPECTS SOME OBJECTIONS AS THE PROCESS MOVES FORWARD.

EACH TUESDAY, THE LIBERTY DAYTON REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER WILL HOLD A FREE BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING FROM 9 TILL NOON IN THE MAIN LOBBY OF HOSPITAL. THIS SERVICE IS FREE FOR EVERYONE.

here is another reminder - residents are invited to the 2010 Public Hurricane Awareness Workshop tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the liberty center at city hall. liberty county emergency management coordinator tom branch said speakers at thursday’s WORKSHOP will include officials with the National Weather Service and the Red Cross. they will address issues of importance regarding the 2010 Hurricane Season.

a reminder – the liberty-dayton area chamber of commerce’s monthly LUNCHEON is today at noon in the liberty center at city hall. today’s speaker is cory taylor, area engineer for texas DEPARTMENT of TRANSPORTATION. cory went to work for txdot in 1993 after earning his engineering degree from texas tech university. before coming to liberty county last november, he was an assistant area engineer in longview. cory and his wife, jennifer, have been married for 18 years and have two children. once more, txdot area engineer cory taylor will be the guest speaker at today’s liberty-dayton area chamber of commerce noon luncheon at the liberty center in city hall.

a liberty panther tennis camp will be held next week, but the deadline to register is tomorrow. director philip dodd said this camp is for all kids – BEGINNERS through advance - in grades six through twelve. each CAMPER will receive INSTRUCTION from high school coaches and collegiate players on all tennis strokes. they will also teach match-play strategy for both singles and DOUBLES. camp PARTICIPANTS should bring a water jug, hat, SUNSCREEN, and a tennis racket. camp cost is $60. this liberty panther tennis camp is next monday through friday – june 21 through 24 – from 8 to 11 a.m. daily at the high school tennis courts. again, the deadline to register for the tennis camp is tomorrow. for information, call 832-527-0794.
