TAKE A STAND

LOCAL NEWS

DATE: 06 02 10

BULLYING IS A PROBLEM THAT IS ESPECIALLY HARD ON KIDS. IT can take many forms: physical, emotional, verbal or a combination. It may involve one child bullying another, a group of children against a single child or groups against other groups. THE LIBERTY COUNTY TEXAS AGRI-LIFE EXTENSION AGENCY HAS A PROGRAM AVAILABLE CALLED "TAKE A STAND" TO TEACH KIDS WHAT BULLYING IS, AND HOW TO DEAL WITH IT. LIBERTY COUNTY AG AGENT ALYSSA PUCKET SAID THE PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE FOR ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT IN LIBERTY COUNTY.

AUDIO:

Bullying is something most children encounter in one form or another. Children struggle with being called names, being picked on or excluded, not knowing how to make friends, or being the ones acting unkindly or aggressively toward others. All forms of bullying are abusive and PROVIDE opportunities to teach children how to get along, how to be considerate OF OTHERS, and how to be part of a community or group. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON "TAKE A STAND" PROVIDED BY THE LIBERTY COUNTY AGRI-LIFE EXTENSION AGENCY, CALL 936 336 4558 EXT 221.
