the lower trinity valley bird club will meet next saturday, february 13, at 10 a.m. in the community room of first liberty national bank in liberty. this month’s guest speaker is Carlton Collier. he is a club member and an adventurer. Carlton will give a presentation on his travels around the globe to see some of the world’s rare and unique bird species. These trips have centered on birding but are mostly an excuse to visit exotic countries to see some of the other critters and cultures that make up this planet. A native Houstonian, Carlton has been afflicted with what he calls a passion for nature and its animal life. his travels have taken him to 40 different countries. locally, Carlton collier has been involved with the Houston Citizens Environmental Coalition as a board member and is presently on the board with the Houston Audubon Society’s Sanctuary Committee. this lower trinity valley bird club presentation is saturday, february 13, at 10 a.m. at flnb, 1900 sam houston in liberty. folks are invited to arrive early at 9:30 for coffee and the club’s ‘birders chat’ time.
