Winnie/Stowell DU Chapter recognized nationally 02 26 10

The NATIONAL DUCKS UNLIMITED President’s Top 100 IS A SELECTION OF elite chapters throughout the nation.  Every year, the list is reserved for LOCAL GROUPS who raise the most grassroots dollars for DU's habitat conservation work. THIS YEAR, The Winnie/Stowell DU Chapter made the list as one of the organization’s BEST DOLLAR RAISING chapters. NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF DU, JOHN POPE SAID These fundraising events are the backbone of how DU conserves AND CREATES NATURAL habitat and the volunteers who make up these chapters are the on-the-ground conservationists making a difference for North American waterfowl populations. HE SAID It takes a lot of effort AND DEDICATION to crack the Top 100 and these chapters deserve to be congratulated BY THOSE WHO enjoy the outdoors. OF THE MORE THAN 3,500 DU CHAPTERS NATIONWIDE, The Winnie/Stowell Chapter has earned a spot on the President’s Top 100 list. DU’s grassroots system has become a model for other conservation organizations worldwide and has HELPED PROVIDE more than 12 million acres DU has conserved since 1937.   The more money RAISED, the more habitat CAN BE CONSERVED. Guided by science and dedicated to program efficiency, DU works toward the vision of wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever AND IN CHAMBERS COUNTY, THE WINNIE STOWELL CHAPTER IS AMONG THE BEST.
