In early March of this year, 17-year old Aiden Walker was found dead following a shooting in Plum Grove, a northwest Liberty Co. development near Cleveland. Reports at the time indicate it was the victim himself who called 911 to report that he had been shot multiple times. Responding deputies found the teenager dead inside the home. His cell phone was nearby. Shortly after that call, a person of interest was taken into custody by Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies in New Caney. Texas Ranger Brandon Bess took that suspect to the County Jail in Liberty, for questioning. That suspect, Samuel Ferrerio Depina, who has since turned 18, was initially charged with Murder. Follow up work by Liberty County Sheriff’s Office investigators revealed two other subjects may have been involved. An arrest warrant for Damitreon Markquice Cosey-age 20, accused him of Conspiracy to Commit Capital Murder. Cosey was located and arrested in the Houston area April 16th, by officers of the U.S. Marshall’s Office.
Then early this month, a Liberty County Grand Jury returned indictments for three individuals. Samuel Depina, the original suspect was indicted for Capital Murder.
Damitreon Cosey was indicted for Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Capital Murder.
The third suspect, Cory Austin Redding, age 21, was also indicted for Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Capital Murder. Redding surrendered to law enforcement officers earlier this week, on May 13. All three suspects remain in custody charged with participation in the murder of 17-year old Aiden Walker of Plum Grove.
