On Thursday afternoon, the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management reported another five COVID-19 cases in the county. For the week so far, Liberty County has seen 51 new cases of COVID-19. Emergency Management officials say three are from North Liberty County, and two are from South Liberty County. All 5 new cases are being treated at home. Ages of the new cases range from 10-20 to 60-70. Emergency Management Coordinator Crista Beasley-Adams tells KSHN the increase in COVID-19 cases in the county is a result of increased testing. Since the start of the pandemic in March, 691 Liberty Countians have been tested. As we said earlier 159 have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of the 159 positive cases, 63 have now recovered. 3 deaths have resulted from COVID-19 symptoms.
