It’s happened again. Another murder victim has been found in Chambers County. This time, an arrest has been made. Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that early Monday evening, the Chambers County Sheriff’s department was called about a body on the side of I-10 at the eastbound 807 mile marker of Interstate 10. There deputies found a man with what appeared to be an entrance gunshot wound to the back with an exit wound near the abdomen. Again, it appears the principals were from out of the immediate area. The victim has been identified as 39-year old Ahmad Epps of Galveston.
Then late Tuesday, word comes that an arrest was made. Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said Renard Luther Allen, age 28, also of Galveston, is in custody and charged with the murder of Epps. Investigation reveals that the victim was last known to be with the suspect. Galveston Police Department assisted in locating the suspect at a 69th Street apartment in Galveston. Allen was detained and transported to the Galveston Police Department. He was eventually transported to the Chambers County Jail and now charged with 1st Degree Felony Murder with a bond of $850,000.
