A theft reported in early February was apparently solved last week in Chambers County. Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said in the early morning hours of Monday, February 10, a trailer and a Lincoln Welder were stolen from a driveway in Cove. On Wednesday, February 19, detectives of the Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in this case. After the issuance of a warrant by Justice of the Peace Blake Sylvia, Detective Bradley Moon arrested Paul Daniel Dille, 30, of River Oaks Drive in Old River, Texas. Dille was booked into the Chambers CountyJail for Theft of Property.
Sheriff Hawthorne said the arrest came from a combination of good old fashioned police work and good neighborhood security cameras. Unfortunately the welder has not yet been located but the Sheriff’s Office is actively tracking leads to hopefully recover the property.
Detectives believe there are other crimes in and around the county that Dille was possibly involved in and more charges on him are expected in the near future.
