It was almost a year ago, on November 23, 2019, when word came out of Houston of the arrest of Liberty County District Attorney Logan Pickett. The charge was assault of a family member, specifically, his wife – Megan Pickett. In August of this year, Mary McFaden, Assistant Harris county District Attorney filed, on behalf of the state of Texas, a motion to dismiss the charge against DA Pickett. That motion was granted by Judge Shannon Baldwin. To recap - Early the morning of November 23rd, 2019 – almost a year ago, KSHN began reporting Liberty County District Attorney Logan Pickett had been arrested for assault in downtown Houston. After being processed at Houston Police Department, he was released the following day. Pickett, who is 38 years of age, was taken into custody at the Westin Houston Downtown Hotel, according to a Houston police report. According to family members at the time, Mrs. Pickett had found out - after dinner at the hotel - that her husband had been having an extra marital affair. That’s when, allegedly, an argument began. According to court documents Logan Pickett pushed his wife. The charge was a misdemeanor, assault on a family member. Again, the charge lodged against Liberty County District Attorney Logan Pickett, stemming from an altercation last November, was dismissed in August, at the request of a Harris County Assistant District Attorney. KSHN learned about the dismissal today.
