After 84 years, the City Barbershop is moving! Don Franklin owner of the barbershop said when the governor gives the ok for barbers to reopen, the City Barbershop will open in its new building in Daisetta. Many boys got there first hair cut at the City Barbershop at 1933 Trinity including this reporter. The barbershop started in 1931 and was on Main Street next to what is now Tarver Abstract. In 1936 the shop moved to 1933 Trinity. With this move, the courthouse square will not have a barbershop for the first time in at least 89 years. The new City Barbershop will be in Daisetta at 101 Pine ST. Don Franklin said the new space will be much larger. He moved most of the equipment out of the building over last weekend. Again, after 89 years in Liberty, the City Barbershop is moving to Daisetta. The last hair cut given was in March.
