Commissioners approve plat over objections from former Houston journalist

Yesterday’s Liberty County Commissioners meeting started with a couple of interesting comments by people in the audience. The first, well known former journalist Wayne Dolcefino, who was recently hired by the City of Plum Grove to investigate conditions related to the developments adjacent to that north county community. Specifically mentioned was Colony Ridge subdivision. In his presentation to commissioners, the former journalist, asked commissioners on behalf of his client-the city of Plum Grove, to NOT approve the newest plat submitted by the developer. Dolcefino said the problems caused by, what he called breach of county code at the current development, colony ridge, were affecting not only Plum Grove area residents, but the Harris County Flood Control district as well.

Despite the investigators appeal, Commissioners approved the plat as submitted. Liberty County Judge Jay Knight said the submission was reviewed by the counties outside engineering firm and they reported it met all the county codes so there was no reason to deny the request
