Dayton City Council expected to name new member

This evening at 6, the Dayton city council will hold one of their regular meetings.Some items of interest on the agenda include discussion on the possible annexation of two separate pieces of property for a total of 295 acres of industrial property.  Also council will address the possible purchase of 24 acres of land.The purpose of the acreage was not mentioned in the agenda.   Also at tonight’s Dayton Council meeting,among other regular business is an executive session. During that closed portion of the meeting, council is expected to discuss their options for filling the council seat made vacant by the resignation of long time member Dr. John Johnson. In addition to that meeting tonight, on Wednesday, Dayton City Council has a special called meeting to administer the oath of office to the newly appointed council member. That would indicate they expect a decision will be made on who will fill the vacant seat.Council meetings are open to the public.
