Dayton High School has named its Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the 2020 school year. The Valedictorian is Paola Perdomo Cepeda, while the Salutatorian is Sadie West. Both joined the kshn.com Party Line yesterday and talked about what they are doing after High School. Paola Perdomo Cepeda is accepted to the University of Houston. Ms. Cepeda wants to become a Nurse Practitioner. The Salutatorian- second ranked DHS graduate, Sadie West will attend Texas Tech University. She then plans to go to medical school earn her M.D.. To say this has been a very different senior year for the class of 2020 is an understatement. In the fall semester, tropical storm Imelda moved through Dayton causing, schools to close. Then in the spring came COVID-19 pandemic. With that the class of 2020 left school on March 6th for spring break. Little did they know, that would be the final time they would leave Dayton High School as students. Again, the 2020 Dayton High School Valedictorian is Paola Perdomo Cepeda. The Salutatorian is Sadie West. We congratulate both of thee young women. It is worthy of note that the third ranked member of the DHS graduating class is Paula Cepeda –She is the twin sister of the Valedictorian, only hundredths of a point behind her sister. The twins believed they were identical but as years passed they learned there were some differences. The class of 2020 has 352 grads. That makes this class the largest in Dayton History, according to Principal Geoff McCracken.
