The Dayton Community Development Corporation has recently acquired some 22 acres on the east side of Dayton, on US 90, just at the top of what is called Dayton Hill. DCDC Executive director Ann Miller said the property, with frontage on hwy 90 near where the welcome to Dayton sign and Flags, then wraps around behind the old Adams trucking property and behind the Sands Hotel. DCDC Director Ann Miller said they are in talks with various entities, discussing projects that may want to locate in what is called a mixed use development.

City Manager Theo Meloncon said of the property, they’d like to see a Dayton Hospital facility locate there on that 22acres as well as other types of businesses. Again, Ann Miller, Executive Director of the Dayton Community Development Corporation said they are actively in talks with developers for a city owned 22 acre site, owned by the DCDC, at the top of the hill as traffic goes into Dayton from the east.
