Drug arrest

On Monday, at approximately 2:25 pm, a deputy with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop near an area near the intersection of US-90 and FM-1413. The alleged violator was identified as Robert Nelson Jones, Jr., age 31. ? The deputy  ? learned the vehicles temporary tag was fictitious. With permission the Liberty County Deputy searched the vehicle where a Tupperware container was found containing a brown and white crystal-like substance, suspected of being  “Crystal Meth”. The substance tested “positive” for Methamphetamine and Jones was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a State Jail Felony. If found guilty the suspect could face 2 years is a Texas State Jail. The suspect Robert Nelson Jones Jr. was lodged in the Liberty County jail but is free now on $25,000 bond.
