The spike in COVID-19 cases in Texas has Governor Greg Abbott pausing any further reopening phases in Texas. The Governor says businesses already open, can stay open, at the designated occupancy levels already announced and must continue under the minimum standard health protocols. Governor Abbott says Texas is focusing on slowing the spread of the virus while hopefully allowing Texans to still earn a paycheck. The Governor has also suspended elective surgeries in the states largest metropolitan areas--- the counties of Harris, Dallas, and Bexar Counties. This slowdown is a result of an increase in COVID-19 hospitalization reports. Governor Abbott urges Texans to keep practicing good hygiene by washing your hands often and by all means try to stay at home minimizing contact with others.
