Growth continues in Liberty

Yes, no doubt Liberty County is growing in so many ways. You can look at any portion of this county and find businesses, industries and homes changing the landscape. The City of Liberty is no different. Liberty Assistant City Manager Chris Jarman said, on Main Street at the corner of Monta in Liberty, a new Fuel Max Convenience store will be going in at the former ThrifTee Food Center gas pumps. That’s directly in front of where the Sleep Inn Hotel officials say they will locate a 3 story, 57 room hotel. Here’s Liberty’s Chris Jarman

The Sleep Inn, had originally announced plans to be located 2 or 3 miles north on far north Main. That was going to be, at the intersection of FM 1011 near the corner of Hwy 146, on property adjacent to where another Fuel Maxx is already located. Now those plans have changed, as the Sleep Inn officials have told city officials they will instead locate the Hotel much closer down town on the vacant lot next to the old ThrifTee Store and as we said another Fuel Maxx will be positioned there. Assistant City Manager Chris Jarman said developers are in the planning and engineering phase of that project. We should also report that we have it on good authority while wheels are turning, where the Hotel folks say they will build in liberty, with the Fuel Maxx next to it, NONE of that land proposed has yet changed hands. So we should report there is a way to go before shovels will be turning dirt.
