Liberty Cross Country Meet held last Saturday

The Liberty Cross Country Team once again hosted the annual Tony Munson Liberty Cross Country Invitational at Liberty Municipal Park last Saturday. According to Liberty Cross Country Coach Joe Roberts this year's meet was another success.  Three Panther boys, Patrick Flowers, Matthew Morin and Rene Romero medaled in the top ten and then Lady Panther Julianne Shivers medaled with a 12th place finish.    Coach Roberts had special praise for LISD superintendent of schools Dr. Cody Abshier for really being involved. He leads the field in all six races on his bicycle through the beautiful wooded grounds of Liberty Municipal Park.    Coach Roberts said this meet, known for being very well organized,  is a huge undertaking every year and could not be done without the helping hands of so many volunteers, coaches and other helping hands. as well as helping to set up the course, Event namesake, Tony Munson, was there with race instructions and the starter's pistol. Coach Joe Roberts saluted Head Cross Country Coach Casey Evans for making sure the wheels don't fall off with her impeccable organization. Roberts also saluted  the City of Liberty Parks Dept for the beautifully maintained city park, the Liberty Police Dept and there are more.  The  There is no doubt I've left off a name or organization and for that I apologize.  It takes many hands and the reason schools continue to come Tony Munson Cross Country Invitational is known as one of the best in southeast Texas and those are some of the reasons why. Up next, the Panthers Cross Country teams travel to Huffman Thursday of this week for the Lake Houston Cross Country Invitational.  There truly are not enough words to express thanks.  Go Panthers!!
