New Executive Order


This Morning, Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a new executive order and its very important to certain business types. In the new order, all bars and similar establishments that make more than 51% of their gross receipts from the sale of alcohol must close by noon today. These businesses may stay open for delivery and take-out, including for alcohol. Here is another category - Restaurants must reduce capacity to 50% of indoor occupancy. This is effective Monday, June 29th . Rafting and tubing businesses across texas must close. Also, outdoor gatherings of 100 or more people must be approved by local governments. This executive order is in response to the spike of COVID-19 cases in the state. Yesterday, the Governor paused further re-openings in the state and suspended elective surgical procedures for hospitals in the states largest counties – that includes Harris, Dallas, and Bexar. Since last week Liberty County has reported 101 new COVID-19 cases and across Texas nearly every day a new all time record is set for more confirmed covid cases.
