Dollar Tree is coming to Liberty. A new 10,000 square foot retail business is set to break ground soon in Liberty on North Main Street. That new building will be next door to Buddy’s Rental. It’s identified by Liberty City manager Tom Warner as a new Dollar Tree store. At their July 14th meeting, Liberty City Council approved a parking lot variance. Liberty’s city ordinance calls for one parking spot to each 200 square feet of retail space. The variance approved by council, because of Dollar Tree’s planned landscaping, was altered to allow this new business to one parking spot per 300 square feet of retail space, Again, that new business is a Dollar Tree retail location. Dollar Tree which recently bought out the Family Dollar store chain does have a few more locations than their biggest competitor, Dollar General, but both companies do have about 14,000 to 15,000 stores nationwide, and are said to be growing.
