Executive Order: On Thursday at a press conference Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order meant to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Executive Order goes into effect at midnight tonight (Friday). According to the order Texans mustavoid gathering in groups of more than 10. The people shall avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants, food courts, or gyms. However, the Governor urged the use of drive-thru, pickup, or delivery options are at restaurants. Visitation is prohibited at nursing homes, retirement or long term care facilities unless it is to provide critical assistance. The Governor temporarily closed all Texas schools. The Governor said that if Texans follow the order, then the sooner life can get back to normal. This Executive action is meant to stop the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.


Meals On Wheels: Here is an important message from the Grace Initiative MEALS ON WHEELS program. This program sees that meals are delivered to homebound mostly senior citizens who could not get meals if it wasn’t for Grace Initiative in both Libertyand Ames. Now because of the Coronavirus COVID -19 issues that surround us here this changes on how Meals on Wheels are delivered. Those meals will be delivered to these clients each Tuesday when volunteers will deliver five frozen meals to the door of their clients. that is each Tuesday . ***********************************************

Home SchoolPlan: With schools across the state now being suspended for no less than 2 more weeks, parents are rightly concerned on how to continue their child’s education. Liberty ISD Assistant Superintendent Dustin McGee said starting Monday, the district will roll out their distance learning plan. Now, for those parents who have no experience on how to home school their students, Mr. McGee said they have a plan laid out that may help parents set a pattern to help educate students at home. Drivers License Offices Closed: In an effort to stem the spread of the Coronavirus in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has closed all Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Driver License offices. Theft: The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the publics help in identifying a suspect who, back in November, 2019, stole a large amount of copper wire from a construction site on CR 4022 near the city of Daytonin the south end of the county. According to lead Investigator Shandalynn Rhame the suspect was photographed by an on-site surveillance camera while committing this theft.
