County not requiring closures: All over the US, states and county governments have asked restaurants and bars and in some cases, required then to shut their doors due to the virus, COVID-19. In Liberty County, Judge Jay Knight has not made a requirement for such action, rather is leaving it up to individual businesses or local governments. Across Liberty County, some have made the choice to limit exposure by closing dining room service, and offering curb side pick up instead. Drive through options are often available. As to community fundraising events, most, if not all, have been canceled by the organizers. Most are citing the federal government request that Americans not gather together in groups of more than 10.
