As we have often reported, KSHN is the official weather reporting station for Liberty for several decades. There is also an unattended electronic device near the Trinity River. Here at our studios, in an average year, during the month of July the gauge receives about 5.25 inches of rainfall.. Only .28 (28 hundredths) of an inch of rainfall was logged the first 19 days of July. . Then starting July 20th and continuing through the 25th, for that 7 day period, the rainfall picked up and was 2.61 inches of rain. Then the four days from July 26th through July 29th we received the highest amount of rainfall of 2.93 inches of rain. Just One day of that rainfall was 1.44 inches recorded on July 28th. For an entire year typically our rain gauge captures about 61.23 inches of rain, again that’s for the entire year according to the National Weather Service (NWS) totals gathered here at our studios. So far in 2020, for the first 7 months, the official gauge reports, so far, 35.13 inches of rainfall. Historically, from one city block to the next rainfall does vary and sometimes by a lot.
