Ribbon cutting at the Governor Bill and Vera Faye Daniel Park

Jennifer Billings, the City Secretary for the City of Dayton sent good news concerning the Governor Bill and Vera Faye Daniel Park on FM 1008 in Dayton. The City of Dayton and the Dayton Youth Sports Association invite one and all to the Governor Bill and Vera Faye Daniel Park for a ribbon cutting to celebrate a major upgrade and re-opening of the park. The ceremony will take place tomorrow, Saturday October 10th at 9:00AM.  The City of Dayton and the Dayton Youth Sports Association are proud of the work that was completed this year during the complete renovation of this fine city park, named in honor of Gov. Bill and Vera Faye Daniel. The late Gov. Bill Daniel was born in Dayton on Church Street and was immensely proud that the park is named in honor of he and his late wife -Vera Faye Daniel. It was through generous gifts of Daniel, who was previously Provincial Governor of Guam, that Dayton got the park in the first place. Renovations to the park included repaving the roads, refurbishing the two concession stands, replacement of the lighting and poles on all baseball and softball fields. All scoreboards and electrical systems have been replaced plus many improvements were made to the drainage system at the park along with complete reconditioning of all fields and playgrounds. The park is on FM 1008 in Dayton.  The official address of the park is 1 Arnold Drive. Arnold Drive is named for Boyd and Patsie Arnold who were instrumental in leading the effort to make the Gov.Bill and Vera Fay Daniel dream of a new city park possible.  So plan to join the City of Dayton and the Dayton Youth Sports Association on Saturday, October 10th at 9:00AM  for the ceremonial ribbon cutting which officially re-opens the Governor Bill and Vera Faye Daniel Park, on FM 1008 in Dayton.
