Here is an Advisory from the City of Liberty: The road closure on Travis St. between Trinity St. and Sam Houston St. all day Thursday has now been extended, probably until 5:00 pm today (Friday), October 23. This is the west side of the courthouse square. We spoke with Liberty city manger Tom Warner, who said this is an old clay pipe sanitary sewer line that has failed, from the court house across Travis to the city sewer main. Mr. Warner said this is a really old clay pipe and could date at least back to the 1950’s. Tom Warner said most of the work installing this new sewer line across Travis is complete but there is some work left for today and then work for the court house maintenance to do on county property, to finish up. With that city officials decided to keep that side of the square closed again today.
