KSHN has been reporting on the required rolling blackouts in Dayton because of severe damage done to the Entergy electrical system in Louisiana during Hurricane Laura. Over the weekend, there was major system damage to the Entergy system in Louisiana. That forced Entergy to reduce power to customers in Texas. That caused blackouts in and around Dayton for hours. On Saturday Entergy reported they believed major repairs had been successful over in Louisiana and were complete. The reports we got from Entergy President Sallie Ranier were that no more blackouts here in southeast texas should be necessary. There are some parts of the system still being repaired where heavy winds did reach infrastructure, requiring poles and transmission line replacements. That was closer to and on into Louisiana. Entergy leadership said those repairs might take longer but repeating again, the intentional rolling blackouts here should be over.
