Georgia Grays was born June 15, 1948, to the late Clarence Grays and Octavia Durio Grays. She was the 3rd child of 7 sisters and brothers.
Georgia attended Colbert Elementary and graduated from Colbert High School in 1966. She attended St. Phillips College in San Antonio, Texas where she obtained her degree in nursing.
Georgia always enjoyed being around family and friends. She had a special love for arts and crafts and took pleasure in making various creations.
Georgia was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age. She worked with the Children’s Ministry for several years and participated in the choir until her health started to fail.
On Friday, July 3, 2020, an angel quietly whispered to her “you have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, you have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for you a crown of righteousness”. Although our hearts are saddened we can find peace in knowing that Georgia is now resting with her parents, Clarence and Octavia Grays, sisters Olivia and Ethel, and brother Clarence.
She leaves her love and memories with her sons, Derrick Grays and Anthony Grays; grandchildren, Jailyn, Tayelin, Thailyn, Daunte’, Mariah, and Navaeh; siblings, Oscar (Mary), James (Billie), Malinda, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
