Dayton Mayor Caroline Wadzeck is obviously proud of her city, and just one reason is the over 200 different concrete Dayton Stars that are on display in front of homes and businesses all that City. In the release, Mayor Wadzeck pointed out most of these stars have their own color, design and personality. All of that tells everyone how proud the owners of those stars are to be a part of the Dayton Community. One of the beautiful Dayton Stars that you can see is the star at Harding’s Piano Service., at 10 Taylor Lane. Mayor Wadzeck pointed out that that star was painted by Ariana and Lydia Harding, students at Texas A&M University. The young ladies are the granddaughters of Claude and Lynne Harding. The exciting news is that there is now a way to see where the stars are located and several ways to plan a route to see the stars. Mayor Wadzeck had high praise for current Dayton High School senior Kaci Martin, who completed the City of Dayton’s web site while a student intern this past summer. Kaci also created an interactive map that pinpoints the location of the painted stars. Mayor Wadzeck said- quoting now - “Now you can jump in your car and with the help of your smart phone, and someone to give directions and find each of the stars. It makes for a fun filled outing.” - end quote. It’s also a fun way to tour the delightful city we all know as Dayton, Texas. Mayor Wadzeck also said the online information is where you can go for help and guidance when touring the stars. The first is daytontx.org. Once there, go to the top of the page and click the community link. While there click Discover Dayton then click Our Stars, and finally Visit our Stars. At the Visit our Stars page you will find the list of star locations along with an interactive map. Its fun. Mayor Wadzeck also commented that the Dayton Stars are part of a beautification and community pride program through the Dayton Historical Society. Proceeds from their sale are also used for many projects that better the community. Sale information can be found on the same website. And she urged everyone to Enjoy the tour!
