Truck Theft

A Baytown man is in the Liberty County Jail charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Liberty Police Department Lieutenant Chip Fairchild tells us that just before noon Thursday, a pickup truck was stolen in the 2800 block of Jefferson Drive. City of Liberty Police officers, already in the area, began to look for the stolen vehicle. A call was received tipping police on the location of the stolen truck. The man accused of the theft had parked the truck and fled into the woods behind the GameStop store on the State Highway 146 bypass. Liberty Police Lt. Fairchild says just after noon that man came out of the woods behind Cook Memorial cemetery. That location is right behind the Police Department. He was quickly arrested. That man is identified as 32-year-old Kevin Kinney of Baytown. He is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and remains in the Liberty County Jail.
